19 of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Medvedev claimed his initial title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him exiting of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This represents the player's first championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt since March of the previous year.

Success also signifies he has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to secure a title is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had failed in his past six finals, comprising in that event previously this season.

His retrieving approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led some to question if his ability to play at the highest level was finished.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

He recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors traded breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to create a final set.

The opponent rescued four initial opportunities in a close final set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
