I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.

Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Attitude

"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to genuinely try to hurt him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
